FOREST GROVE, Ore.- The Pacific University women's soccer team defended well for 90 minutes, but Puget Sound nicked the winner just a few minutes into the first extra time period to steal the 1-0 win on the road.
Puget Sound (7-0-1, 3-0-1 NWC) managed to stay
The visitors nearly opened the scoring in the early minutes when Genny Jilka fired a shot from distance but Catherine Corlett (Sophomore/Gilbert, AZ) leapt to make a fantastic save, tipping the shot over the crossbar to keep the teams level.
Pacific would respond by winning a couple of corner kicks, but their offense would go quiet for the remainder of the first half. Some strong defending from Julianna Ventura (Junior/Pasco, WA), Elizabeth Blair (Senior/Cottonwood, UT), and Peyton Seals (Junior/Longview, WA) kept the Boxers within striking distance.
Pacific's best scoring opportunity came in the 69th minute when Mikayla Farrow (Sophomore/Sparks, NV) found some space on a counter attack, but her right-footed attempt was hit straight at the Loggers' goalkeeper.
Tessa Bretschieder (Freshman/Eugene, OR) also had a pop from long range in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper was equal to it.
Puget Sound wasted little time to find the winner in extra time as Kiana Serrao found the bottom corner to clinch the 1-0 victory and send her team back to Tacoma with all three points.

- Corlett made five saves between the posts.
